It's been a while...

Ho hum,

So it's been ages since I've added anything to this, but in my defense I've been a bit busy! Slugella finally arrived on Friday 11th Feb, at 3:04 in the morning (anti social baby!). After a day or so of deliberation we decided to call her Tully Elizabeth, which means calm or peaceful! Well, I think we were optimisitc there as since we've been home it's been interesting times with the ever constant cycle of feeding, changing, crying etc, with the occasional hour of sleep caught somewhere in between. Anyway this picture was taken when she as only about half an hour old so apologies for looking slightly flaked out!



I think things are starting to become marginally easier now though, but maybe we just had a good day yesterday to lull me into a false sense of security. Anyway, if you want to see how she's doing then she has her own blog to keep people up to date with her life.

Just recently I've found the perfect way to surf and comfort Tully, although my typing is a bit slow since it's only one handed!

Birthday Girl!

Hurray for birthdays! I had a fab day yesterday - starting with my chocoholic breakfast in bed, and then all my lovely presents, the yummy lunch, the surprise tea party and mega chocloate birthday cake and the evening out! Thanks so much to everybody that put so much effort in to making it so special for me. I really appreciate it. I truly am the luckiest girl in the world! Assuming the term girl can still apply now I'm in my 30s??? :-(

Daytime TV

I've got really addicted to the program 'Come Dine With Me'. The basic premise is that each week 5 people that believe they can host the perfect dinner party are grouped together. Each night, one if the 5 hosts a dinner party for the other 4, and at the end of the evening each of the 4 guests award marks out of 10 for the entertainment, food and wine.

Am I being big headed to think that I could win given the efforts I have seen so far???

Tardy Slug...

So today was, in theory, the day! But sadly nothing... Got my appointment to go and be induced though - not until the 14th which seems ages away! I'm getting more and more convinced it's going to be Saturday though. :-(

Slugella News

Not that there actually is any though. She's still determindly staying put. Although she has started wriggling in a very evil way and making my life particularly uncomfortable. Which strikes me as a very foolish tactic - given she'll be so reliant on me for survival when she does finally show up you'd think she'd be wise enough to try and keep me sweet!

iPod Stuff

I've just been updating my iPod - I found a funky bit of software called iPod Agent to transfer all my iPod data back onto my PC too! And the best thing about it - the logo!!! Isn't it cute???

Holiday!

We've booked to go to a cottage in Embleton, Northumberland for a week in May. It's just along the coast from Dunstanburgh Castle. Maybe we're being slightly ambitious but it's nice to have something in the calendar to look forward to!!!

She's not good at subtleties

Well, Saturday evening was a night for trying out the old wives tales - we went for a walk, had a curry and I made poor Markie sit through '3 Men and a Baby' but sadly she didn't take the hint that it was time for her to get out of there... Although given she's on a direct drip feed to pie I don't blame her really.
Speaking of which, I can't believe the mighty Pukka Pie doesn't get a mention on the I like pie website! An outrageous travesty of justice if ever there was one!

Waiting...

So, I've survived my first week off. It's actually gone really quickly - I've had quite a busy week all in all. Not too long to go now - I'm plotting to try and speed things up to get her as far away from my birthday as possible, although if she's not here in the next week she can stay in for at least another 2 after that!!!
Anyway, various people that I haven't seen for a while have been wondering how big I am these days, and have generally not been impressed with my unhelpful answer of "Bigger than last time you saw me!" so I thought I'd take a picture so they could see (below).

Yey - I've got a blog

Hey ho - Jonny told me about blogging a while back, and now I'm a lady of leisure I thought I'd have a go at setting one up... I'm not sure how good I'll be at remembering to post stuff to it though.

Not much going on with me at the moment - I started my maternity leave this week so I'm mainly sitting around watching DVDs, eating pie and waiting for Slugella to decide she's ready to brave the outside world.
